The PHEV is a plugin hybrid, at least the normal one is. A little range on electricity and then a gas guzzler on the highway.

Just out of curiosity - how is Mitsubishi's quality these days? At least in North America, they don't seem to be doing well sales-wise. The Outlander PHEV does sound interesting though.

I have no idea. Mitsubishi as a whole is slowly dying from my perspective. They haven't really been able to keep up with the JDM market.
